Tasks Summary

As part of the Calvados Council’s department "Actions éducatives, Citoyenneté, Europe", which promotes citizenship, openness to the world and civic commitment for young people (11-15 yo) during in-school and out-of-school time, your tasks will be: - To participate in the organisation of events aimed at raising young people's awareness of other cultures and citizenship (Inter'Act Tour, Europe Day in schools, school cross-country races, European cultural activities, hosting foreign delegations, etc.): registration and promotion process, logistical preparation and document sharing, meetings with partners, workshop facilitation, evaluation, etc. - To lead activities to prepare middle school students for mobility in European countries (Erasmus + consortium), - To lead activities for middle school students related to media and information education, - To participate in coordinating and promoting the ESC Calvados network (best practices and tips, instagram account, common actions) Accommodation, food and transport arrangements You will share a flat with 2 volunteers in the dynamic and well served city of Hérouville-saint-Clair (less than 20 mins from Caen city centre - 30 from the sea). You are autonomous regarding meals, but costs are covered by the volunteering financial support. You will find kitchen areas to heat up your lunch and eat with colleagues in the office. A bicycle is available. Possible subscription to the local bus network or to the regional train network. The Region Council offers a card to young people to benefit from reduced rates for cultural & sport activities.   Training during the activity You will have the opportunity to benefit from project management experimentation and event organisation. You will expand your knowledge on the functioning and actions of the European Union and local authorities. You will follow two training sessions with our partner to develop your skills and knowledge about the European Union, mobility opportunities as well as methods and games to know how to lead a group activity. More information: https://www.calvados.fr/college/actions-educatives Participant profile We are looking for a responsible, organised and outgoing participant between 18 and 25 years old. You are interested in raising the awareness of young French people towards the topics of the mission. You are curious to discover France and ready to live in a mixed flatshare with 2 other volunteers. You have your driving licence. To be comfortable with the mission, it is better to have a rather good knowledge of French (written and spoken).
