Overview
Logistics Technical Assistant reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, based in Maitsebri, Ethiopia. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to NRC policies, supporting project implementation, and assisting with procurement, fleet, and store management.
Tasks Summary
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Support implementation of delegated CC project portfolio.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Assist in promotion and sharing ideas for technical improvement.
- Assist in coordination with relevant partners/Sectors.
- Assist in ensuring NRC procurements are completed according to procedures and within minimum timeframes.
- Assist in ensuring all NRC procurement processes are done according to correct policies, procedures, SOPs, and lead times.
- Assist in ensuring maximum fleet efficiency and effectiveness through planned resources allocation and maintenance.
- Handle goods receipts, proper storage, and ensure proper documentation is handled and managed professionally.
- Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping in accordance with finance and logistics formats and procedures.
- Ensure storage areas are kept clean and organized.
- Report immediately to the Logistics Officer or Area Manager if any problems relating to safe storage of stock.
- Report and update on stock balance weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliations.
- Report any obsolete, damaged, loss, or missing items.
- Conduct inventory control/check periodically through physical count.
Experience Requirements
- 1-2 years’ work experience as a Logistic Assistant or similar role
- Basic experience from working as a logistic assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related disciplines
