Overview
The Finance Officer will coordinate and liaise with United Nations System organizations to support the Task Force on Accounting Standards and facilitate information sharing on IPSAS implementation and post-implementation.
Tasks Summary
- Assist with coordination and liaison with UN System organizations
- Support the Chair of the Task Force on Accounting Standards
- Facilitate monitoring and managing accounting diversity
- Solicit technical advice on IPSAS-related issues
- Facilitate consideration of common implementation and post-implementation issues
- Keep abreast of IPSAS Board developments
- Draft progress reports
- Provide support to HLCM networks
- Assist Chair in interaction with audit function
- Lead efforts to maintain collaborative web-based platforms
- Manage system-wide IPSAS project activities, financial resources, outputs and deliverables
Experience Requirements
Expert knowledge of international accounting standards and managerial experience in specific areas being supervised, especially application of IPSAS. Proven analytical skills and ability to provide technical advice. Experience in supporting IPSAS implementation.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in accounting or related field.
