Tasks Summary

Seeking to foster intergenerational and intercultural dialogue, as well as to promote active citizenship, collaboratio, inclusion and solidarity among its citizens, the twinning commitee of Livarot-South-Molton wishes to cooperate with a young European volunteer on the following missions: - Creation of a new partnership for the twinning commitee; - Creation a Europe club to facilitate exchange - Organisation of an event for Europe Day 2026; - Establissement of a community garden and promotion sustainable living - Work on the creation of intergenerational bridges - Facilitation of activities, on storytelling, music, and other thematics, the creation of a recipy book, involving both young and elderly residents - Raising awareness on inclusion and on elderly care These activities will be coordinated across multiple structures, such as the twinning commity, the local schools, the retirement center, and the leisure center, in order to ensure consistent engagement and learning. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements -The volunteer will be housed in an apartment located in the middle school of Livarot. A variety of amenities are present in the city. -They will be responsible for the preparation of their own meals, while having access to the school’s canteen or the canteen of the retirement home on a discount rate. -An electric bike rental service and a carpooling are available to support the transport between the different activity sites and neighboring towns. The town is also served by regular bus lines to Lisieux, where a train station connect the city with Caen, Paris and other destinations. Training during the activity - Participation in an arrival and mid-term formation concerning ESC volunteers, proposed by the French National Agency - Participation on training courses, proposed by Europe Direct thanks to a partnership wiht the Départment, on the thematics of Europe, citizenship, democratic life, etc. and different educational practices (academic, adapted and non-formal education). - Provision of french courses. Participant profile We are looking for a curious, social and creative person, who is interested in sustainable development and eco-friendly practices, in raising awareness and who values intergenerational exchange and interculturality. The volunteer should feel confortable living in a small rural town, such as Livarot. Lastly, the knowledge of French is not obligatory, though appreciated.
