Overview

Tasks Summary
- Manage the day-to-day operations of project(s) and provide services to donors, partners and beneficiaries.
- Produce/read project initiation documents (PID) and Legal Agreements.
- Follow the project lifecycle from inception to completion using standard project lifecycle practices and artefacts.
- Analyze requirements and synthesize proposals or project options to meet client needs.
- Establish solid working relationships with the project board, client and key stakeholders.
- Manage communications and ensure stakeholders are aware of project activities, progress, and exceptions.
- Develop and maintain project plans, implement approved plans, and manage the production of required products.
- Identify and manage risks to achieve maximum benefit to client and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policy, including Project Management Cycle Instructions.
- Prepare and adapt project initiation documentation, stage/exception plans, and product descriptions.
- Prepare highlight reports, end stage reports, operational closure checklists, end project reports, and handover reports.
- Maintain electronic blue files, procurement, HR and finance files.
- Manage budgets, cash flow, and obligations to ensure deliverables are met and payments are received on time.
- Participate in relevant Communities of Practice and share lessons learned.
- Lead and motivate the project management team, ensure performance reviews are conducted, and select, recruit, and train team as required.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure projects comply with audit requirements.
- Coordinate quality reviews of project documents and deliverables.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in project development and management, with a focus on monitoring, reporting, development, and coordination in either public or private sector organizations with a Master's Degree.
- Demonstrated experience in holding a Project Management or Acting PM role in the delivery of development projects.
- Experience implementing projects in the health sector (desired).
- Past experience in projects involving procurement (desired).
- Knowledge of the UN system and familiarity with UNOPS procedures (desired).
Qualification Requirements
- A Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or any other relevant field.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) combined with four (4) additional years of relevant professional experience in Civil Engineering or relevant field may be accepted in lieu of a Master's degree.
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PRINCE2® Foundation, PMP) (desired).
