Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteer will be living with a host family or at the school. If accommodated in a host family, Dansk ICYE and Husmandsstedet aim to find a family living as close to the project as possible. The life in a host family will facilitate the integration in the local community, and will accelerate the process of both language and intercultural learning. Husmandsstedet is situated in a rural area. Transport from accommodation to the host project is covered. Training during the activity The volunteer will attend 2 trainings organized by the National Agency (on-arrival and mid-term training) as well as 2 camps and other events organized by ICYE. Participant profile It is part of the daily routine to talk to the people visiting Husmandsstedet. It is therefore essential that the volunteer is open-minded and social and that he or she enjoys having contact with people, both adults and children. In order to make communication possible, a basic knowledge of English is necessary. We would like to invite people with a creative approach. The volunteer will spend some of his or her time in the workshop/studio. The volunteer should therefore like all kinds of creative work as well as having an interest in working, speaking and playing with children and teenagers.
