BD is situated in the beautiful countryside and is built in an old mansion with 50 acres of land where we have horses, chickens, forest, shelters and garden farming. Bustrup Dayschool has around 18 students and 10 teachers. A part of Bustrup School center is also 3 care homes where the Dayschool students live. It means that we care for our students 24/7/365. The staff of the Dayschool is international. Our school is active in Sports, Theater, Music, Arts, Building and Garden farming. Tasks: attend morning assembly with teacher and students be a teaching assistant in the classroom OR work in the garden participate in teacher’s meetings Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Food and accommodation is provided. Volunteers will be accommodated in Bustrup Hovedgård, having a room, access to bath and kitchen in order to be self-sustaining. Breakfast and dinner are eaten in the kitchen and the volunteers are themselves responsible for: making a monthly budget, making their own shopping (there will be a food-card provided), making their own cooking and keeping a good kitchen hygiene. All transport to the host project will most of the year be by bike or walking. Exceptions can be made in special cases. Training during the activity The volunteer will – if he/she arrives on the agreed date – participate on an on-arrival training provided by our national Agency IU, as well as a mid-term training halfway through her stay. These seminars are compulsory. Meetings and other events will be organized by Dansk ICYE together with the volunteers we host from Europe but also from Asia, Africa and Americas as well. Themes of the seminars will vary, but will enhance the intercultural learning process and give the volunteer a chance to share and make friendship with youth from all over the world. Participant profile Age preference between 18 to 30. A background as: youth workers, teachers, pedagogues, craftsmen and/or builders, sports instructors, health and social workers, unemployed people, or students. Strong interest in: dissemination of environmental knowledge, nutrition, hands-on work in an organic garden, supporting vulnerable young people. It is required to have a basic knowledge of English.
