Overview
The GBV Protection Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality, survivor-centered GBV case management services and supporting GBV prevention and response activities.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship on GBV case management principles and survivor-centered approaches.
- Promote staff well-being and facilitate reflective practices.
- Support supervision, review, and quality assurance of GBV case management services.
- Facilitate team learning and peer support.
- Conduct assessments to identify strengths and gaps in GBV response capacity.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of data collection, reporting, and data protection protocols.
- Deliver training, coaching, and on-the-job support to staff and volunteers.
- Provide direct support for complex GBV cases.
- Ensure all interventions uphold the safety, dignity, and confidentiality of survivors.
- Support GBV prevention activities, including awareness-raising and community engagement.
- Undertake other GBV or protection-related tasks as assigned.
- Support the prevention and mitigation of GBV by engaging with communities and local stakeholders.
- Contribute to capacity building of local actors and partners.
- Ensure regular maintenance and updating of GBV-related databases and monitoring tools.
- Collect and enter relevant data on GBV cases, community prevention activities, and referral mechanisms.
- Support the timely procurement of materials and resources for GBV activities.
- Compile and contribute to reports on GBV case management, prevention, and community engagement activities.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in GBV prevention and response, including case management, community-based activities, and coordination, preferably with an international humanitarian organization.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work in complex and difficult circumstances.
- Field experience in emergency context is highly desirable.
- High level of personal initiative, analytical skills and pro-active problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain working relationships across the organization.
- Be a team player.
- Cultural sensitivity, and commitment and understanding of the values of DRC.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.

Qualification Requirements
• University degree in social work, social science, law or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
