Overview
The Economic Recovery Officer– Agriculture will support the planning, management, and reporting of agricultural components for livelihood projects aimed at improving rural livelihoods and resilience in Afghanistan.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical support to local farmer groups for farm-extension activities.
- Collaborate with value chain and marketing officer on entrepreneurial services.
- Contribute to agriculture studies, research, and assessments.
- Develop technical and training materials for climate-smart agriculture.
- Develop local farmers' capacity through trainings, workshops, and demonstration plots.
- Identify program beneficiary farmers and traders.
- Support planning and design of agriculture and food security activities.
- Develop monthly and quarterly work and budget plans.
- Participate in baseline surveys and needs assessments.
- Conduct technical assessments and surveys.
- Facilitate identification, targeting, and selection of target groups.
- Plan and organize trainings and demonstrations.
- Develop field-level distribution plans and deliver livelihood inputs.
- Conduct regular field-level monitoring visits and reporting.
- Facilitate linkages between producers and market actors.
- Conduct capacity needs assessment of field/technical assistants.
- Facilitate on-the-job trainings/coaching.
- Analyze risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities.
- Participate in other assigned duties.
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years of work experience in agriculture or other activities related to the responsibilities of the position.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, reporting, and leading the team in order to implement economic recovery project properly as well as representing DRC in meetings/trainings.
- Working experience with communities especially in implementing economic recovery programs.
- Good management and leadership skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem-solving abilities
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor in economic, agriculture, engineering or another relevant field.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
