Overview

This internship is located within the Disaster Risk Reduction Section (DRS) of the Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division of ESCAP. The role contributes to the analysis of disaster impacts and assists in organizing international conferences and meetings.

Tasks Summary

• Contribute to the quantitative and qualitative analysis on the socio-economic impacts of disasters
• Assist in organizing international conferences and meetings
• Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required by the Section and the Division

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements

• be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
• be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent)

Languages Required: English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: Up to 6 months

Work Modality: in-person

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
