Overview

The Social Protection Specialist will contribute to the World Bank's Social Protection and Labor (SPL) and Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) engagements in Djibouti, supporting the preparation and implementation of operations and technical assistance.

Tasks Summary

• Contribute as core team member to SPL and HNP programs in Djibouti.
• Provide project implementation, technical support and capacity building to government counterparts.
• Engage and contribute to policy dialogue.
• Liaise with donor partners and represent the Bank.
• Support external communications related to SPL and HNP.
• Lead or contribute to analytical work on SPL and HNP.
• Work closely with other Global Practices.
• Respond to ad-hoc and urgent requests from management.
• Contribute to other tasks as needed.
• Be the focal point on the ground for the CMU on SPL and HNP issues.

Experience Requirements

At least five years of relevant experience in areas relevant to SPL. Some experience in areas related to HNP is required. Experience working in, or closely with, government departments or related agencies on SPL and HNP issues.

Qualification Requirements

Master’s degree in relevant discipline (social policy, economics, public policy, public administration or similar).
