Overview
The NDC Finance Consultant will provide technical inputs and review the NDC Investment Plan, offer capacity building on climate finance, and assist in organizing and presenting at the launch of the NDC Investment Plan. The role also involves preparing project proposals for funding sources.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical inputs and review the NDC Investment Plan.
- Provide capacity building on climate finance.
- Help organize, facilitate, and present at the launch of the NDC Investment Plan.
- Prepare project proposals for submission to funding sources.
- Draft project proposals for different funding sources and help submit them on behalf of Zambian organisations.
- Provide technical inputs into the NDC Investment Plan.
- Prepare climate finance trainings, including workshops where project proposals will be co-created.
- Present the NDC Investment Plan at a launch and support awareness-raising efforts.
- Help organize a donor conference to mobilize resources for NDC investment projects.
- Formulate investment projects for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Submit deliverables including technical inputs on finance capacity, provision and support for climate finance trainings, technical inputs and review of NDC Investment Plan, and preparation of project financing proposals.
Experience Requirements
- More than 10 years of practical experience on climate change issues, including on climate fund proposal development.
- Experience with the formulation and development of climate fund proposals in Zambia.
- Demonstrated experience working with private sector businesses, governments, or development finance institutions on climate fund proposals.
- Experience with submissions to the Green Climate Fund, Adaptation Fund, or another climate fund.
- Relevant experience in consulting work.
- Concrete experience in Zambia on climate change topics with public institutions – either as an employee or as a consultant or partner.
- Experience in organizing workshops and/or similar events is an asset.
- Experience assessing a country's debt situation as well as its fiscal and monetary policy framework in light of its climate ambitions.
- Experience in either developing project proposal for sustainable tourism or in sustainable tourism policy would be desirable.
Qualification Requirements
• A Master’s Degree (with seven years of related work experience) or Bachelors degree (with 9 years of relevant work experience), in environmental engineering, finance, economics, development studies, business, management, administration or another relevant field is required.
