Overview

Support UNDP’s climate engagement on global digital platforms by assisting in planning, producing, and publishing social media content. The role involves developing posts and visual assets, maintaining social media presence, and contributing to analytics and community engagement.


Tasks Summary
  • Provide support in releasing and promoting social media communications products across digital platforms.
  • Draft, edit, and schedule social media posts aligned with editorial guidelines and the global climate calendar.
  • Develop visual content using Canva or other digital tools for social media channels.
  • Support in producing analysis and evaluation of social media performance and provide recommendations.
  • Coordinate with Language Communications Specialists for content dissemination.
  • Support updates and organization of team’s promotional Trello boards.
  • Assist with influencer and partner outreach and engagement.
  • Provide community engagement support across platforms.
  • Track audience sentiment, identify emerging trends, and support inclusive conversations.
  • Ensure social media content adheres to accessibility standards.
  • Support the implementation of best practices for digital communications.
  • Produce content and support campaigns in the lead-up to the UN Climate Change Conference, COP31.

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in drafting and editing content for websites, social media, and other digital platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel, Canva.

Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school Programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in communications / social media / media;
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a second university degree Programme (minimum Master’s level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
Other Details

Languages Required: English

Languages Preferred: Fluency in additional UN languages will be considered an asset.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: Homebased

Remuneration: • UNDP interns are eligible to receive a monthly stipend, with the rate that varies depending on the duty location. • Where an intern is financially supported by an institution, government or third party, UNDP will pay the intern the difference, if any, between the external financial support provided and the applicable UNDP stipend.
