Overview
The Digital Communication Associate will propose and lead the implementation of the digital media strategy to promote children's rights and UNICEF's mission through digital channels.
Tasks Summary
- Support the design, development, and implementation of digital content strategies.
- Support planning, developing, and implementing social media presence.
- Plan and manage social media and website engagement initiatives.
- Lead the digital media editorial planning and processes.
- Lead the Content Committee for weekly planning and producing summary reports.
- Lead on the writing of digital media packs.
- Liaise with graphic designers, consultants and agencies to produce visuals.
- Update, maintain and monitor the website.
- Support monitoring of and reporting on digital and social media presence and results.
- Monitor and prepare reports on social media and website key performance indicators.
- Identify new opportunities to improve digital platform presence.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in digital content management is required, including institutional communication, social media, marketing and/or (youth) engagement, with social media tools and platforms such as Meta, Facebook, Twitter, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
- Experience in planning, implementing, assessing social media strategies and history telling will be considered an asset.
- Maintaining and coordinating digital and social media channels for organizations of human rights or social development will be an asset.
- Work experience in an international organization or UN agency is desirable.
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
- Experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Qualification Requirements
- Completion of secondary education.
- Technical and/or university courses in marketing, journalism, social communication, digital communication, multimedia or any other discipline relevant to the job is an asset.
