Overview
The Solid Waste Management coordinator will support the Ministry of Environment in implementing the updated SWM strategy and the SWM cost recovery law. The role involves establishing coordination mechanisms with local authorities, funding agencies, and the SWM Authority.
Tasks Summary
- Support coordination between MoE and Municipalities by conducting meetings, assessing SWM modalities, and advising on the Cost Recovery Law.
- Support coordination between MoE and the SWM Authority board by assisting in its establishment and operationalization, providing overviews of regulations and strategy, and updating on financial mechanisms and local interventions.
- Coordinate among funding agencies and donors to ensure coherent national implementation of SWM.
- Deliver monthly reports on strategy implementation, and technical reports on strategy implementation at service zone level, overall developments, and final achievements.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in coordination with central and local administration in environmental management (with Master’s degree).
- Proven experience in solid waste management.
- Familiarity with cost recovery mechanisms and financial tools in SWM.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including municipalities, unions of municipalities, government agencies, and donors.
Qualification Requirements
- Master’s degree in environmental sciences or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related field.
