Overview
This position supports the implementation of communications strategies for countries, situations and special projects within the area of responsibility, helping to lead the narrative, generate empathy and mobilize action for forcibly displaced and stateless people.
Tasks Summary
- Support the implementation of communications strategies.
- Monitor news and popular trends to insert UNHCR's messaging.
- Help forge strategic partnerships.
- Support the development of news-driven and authoritative content.
- Help ensure that content created reaches maximum impact.
- Help monitor the implementation of donor communications projects.
- May be required to assist in implementation of campaigns, events and other initiatives.
- Support the identification and management of risks.
- Design and review donor communication and engagement innovations.
- Collaborate closely with Individual Giving and Middle Donor programmes.
- Collaborate closely with Business Intelligence team.
- Conduct donor analytics.
- Oversee the execution of omnichannel programmes.
- Drive brand-building efforts.
- Liaise, monitor and review outsourced vendor services performance.
- Support UNHCR’s donor events.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience relevant to the function for high school diploma or 2 years of experience with Bachelor or higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Social Science or other related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience providing functional guidance or supervision to communications, donor care or loyalty marketing teams.
- Proven experience in a fundraising, digital marketing or communications environment working on donor/customer care and loyalty programme.
- Track record of driving new initiatives that deliver improved donor or customer experience.
- Proven experience in managing donor or customer records within a customer relationship database.
- Proven experience in analysing purchasing/donation behaviour and collecting donor/customer insights through surveys and other means.
- Knowledge of MS office especially MS Word, MS Excel.
Qualification Requirements
• Completion of secondary education, preferably with a bachelor’s degree, in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Social Science or other related fields.
