Overview
Provide cultural mediation and interpretation support to facilitate communication between service providers and migrants, and assist in the implementation of community engagement and awareness-raising activities.
Tasks Summary
- Provide cultural mediation and interpretation support.
- Provide verbal interpretation support to IPAS staff.
- Assist through interpretation during the collection of routine information and data and case identification and referrals.
- Support beneficiaries in contacting service providers.
- Support the identification of vulnerabilities and refer them to the Senior Case Management Associate.
- Support IOM partners in the implementation of community engagement and awareness-raising activities.
- Conduct outreach activities to inform beneficiaries about available MHPSS services.
- Provide interpretation assistance to mental health professionals.
- Prepare routine documentation and submit basic reports.
Experience Requirements
- High school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in cultural mediation in the framework of migrants’ assistance.
- Completion of trainings in cultural mediation for mental health settings, and competence in the MHPSS specialized vocabulary would be an asset.
- Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs, EU Agencies and/or Irish law enforcements or Government’s Departments would be an asset.
Qualification Requirements
• High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Social Sciences, International relations or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
