Caritas Archidiecezji Gdańskiej Sopot, Poland Volunteer opportunity: This is Solidarity
You will be involved in the everyday life of charity organization of Caritas. We believe that no one should be left behind. Our mission is to support the most vulnerable members of our community—including the elderly, and those facing terminal illness, children and youth, the homeless and people with disabilities. This project invites dedicated volunteers to become part of our compassionate team, supporting a wide range of services that bring dignity, care, and hope to those in need. You are expected to work 6 hours per day, 5 days a week. The usual working days are Monday to Friday, however, you may occasionally be asked to take part in events during the weekend. In such cases, you will receive a day off during the following working week. You will work alongside Caritas staff and be supervised by the Volunteering Coordinator. will also have regular meetings with the Project Coordinator and receive ongoing mentoring. You will be entitled to 2 days of holiday for each working month. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements You will share accomodation with other volunteers who join the project. Single room with access to shared bathroom and kitchen is a standard. Depending on the facility that you are going to work in there may be 2-3 different living locations in the area. Caritas provides Accomodation and local transport money to get to work. There will be also regular pocket money and food support payments provided into your account every month - Pocket money – 6 Euro /Day; Food money – 500 PLN. Travel cost will be also covered from the project according to European Solidaryty Corp Guide. Training during the activity General Online Training is available primarily to registered candidates and participants selected for an activity. It is offered through the EU Academy platform and accessed via the European Solidarity Corps portal. Trainings provided by the National Agency, including: On-arrival, which is obligatory for all participants (usually held in Warsaw). Mid-term, required for participants whose mobility lasts longer than 6 months (usually held in Toruń). You will also receive access to a Polish course on the EU Academy as well as Polish language course to help you gain basic language skills.
