Overview

The role is required to ensure the technical quality of the WASH & Shelter program implementation at field-level. The WASH & Shelter Technician will be responsible for conducting technical assessments, monitoring, supervision, and providing technical advice.

Tasks Summary
  • Ensure WASH & Shelter activities are implemented as per the work plan and donor requirements.
  • Conduct evaluation and assessment at field level.
  • Conduct regular visits to beneficiaries, collective shelters, and informal tented settlements to supervise, monitor, and ensure quality and progress of ongoing work.
  • Conduct service assessments and coordination.
  • Plan and implement community events.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate monitoring, inspection, and reference records.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting by collecting data.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on Save the Children’s feedback mechanism system.
  • Prepare bills of quantities (BoQs) and technical drawings, where required.
  • Support regular quality assessments on all incoming services and materials & kits from suppliers.
  • Identify capacity building requirements of WASH & Shelter Volunteers and deliver technical trainings.
  • Support supervision, coaching and performance management of all WASH & Shelter Volunteers.
  • Conduct trainings for volunteers on project implementation and changes.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other partners to implement common projects.
  • Represent Save the Children Lebanon in isolation centers, shelters, municipalities, government administration or during communication with any other party, when delegated.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the WASH sector.
  • Shelter and/or WASH experience in humanitarian context.
  • Familiarity with refugee communities (informal settlements) in areas of operation.
  • Experience in field work and community mobilization.
  • Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries.
  • Experience in water quality test, collecting samples and reading water results.
Qualification Requirements

Degree in Environmental, Civil or Mechanical engineering or similar field.
