Overview
The Information Management Specialist will design, implement, and harmonize data collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination systems for DRC Syria HMA operations, ensuring compatibility with internal and external reporting systems. The role involves providing technical input and support on information management to senior management and producing high-quality IM products for reporting and advocacy.
Tasks Summary
- Establish a compatible Information Management system and develop tools for data capture.
- Act as liaison between DRC HDP programme and Mine Action actors.
- Coordinate with other Mine Action agencies to construct a countrywide database.
- Cooperate with the MEAL department for reporting requests.
- Explore innovative means for data capture and management.
- Design and maintain a web-based platform for data sharing.
- Ensure sources of verification are cross-examined.
- Ensure timely data collection and identify appropriate data sources.
- Map sector program activities using GIS or other web-based systems.
- Ensure documented beneficiary engagement and share learning points.
- Produce monthly reports with data analysis and maps.
- Produce and update information products like reports, charts, and infographics.
- Ensure the security of shared information.
- Disseminate reports to clusters, donors, and stakeholders.
- Conduct data quality checks periodically.
- Create online forms and dashboards.
- Establish Information/Database Management policies and procedures.
- Provide expert advice to the HMA Operations Manager.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.
Experience Requirements
- At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar position.
- 2 years’ experience in IM in a Mine Action context including experience in database management linked to the IMSMA system.
Qualification Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required).
- Master's degree in relevant field (preferred).
