Overview

The WASI Officer is responsible for high quality technical assessment, design & BOQs preparation of damaged shelters, communal and agriculture infrastructures. The objective is to deliver a high-quality technical output in line with technical standards and specifications.

Tasks Summary
  • Conduct technical assessments of Shelters and communal and agriculture infrastructures.
  • Develop technical documents including estimation, BoQs, scope of work, environmental studies, work plan and computer aided design drawing.
  • Ensure high-quality and high-impact shelter and other engineering repair works.
  • Lead and conduct market surveys to draft BoQs.
  • Participate in joint need assessments with quality data collection.
  • Draft assessment and distribution reports; provide financial and program information and draft reports for internal and donor reporting.
  • Prepare project progress reports on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Responsible for technical monitoring project quality, process of milestone and distribution planning.
  • Lead technical coaching of project participants and technical monitoring of works conducted.
  • Provide timely updates on status on WASI activities.
  • Support with procurement processes and be assigned as procurement simple check focal point.
  • Can be technical point of the contact for foremen & other technical person on the construction ground.
  • Any other task assigned by line manager or supervisor.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum three to five years’ project management, serving & designing experience of infrastructure projects, preferably in (I) NGOs.
  • Proven experience in technical assessments, development of technical reports and design, drawings along with preparation of BoQs for sub projects.
  • Proven experience in environmental assessments.
  • Proven project designing experience in the updated design software (AutoCAD, civil 3D, water GEM & others).
  • Extensive community level experience, in mobilization and engagements.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent coordination skills and must be a good team player.
  • Excellent computer using skills, preferably including MS Project.
  • Excellent Auto CAD-using skills.
Qualification Requirements

• BSc. in Civil or Structural Engineering
