Overview
The WASI Officer is responsible for high-quality technical assessment, design, and BOQ preparation for damaged shelters and communal/agriculture infrastructures, as well as WASH activities. The role involves leading technical coaching and monitoring for repair works.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct technical assessments of shelters and communal/agriculture infrastructures.
- Develop technical documents including estimation, BoQs, scope of work, environmental studies, work plans, and CAD drawings.
- Ensure high-quality shelter and engineering repair works.
- Lead and conduct market surveys to draft BoQs.
- Participate in joint need assessments and ensure data quality.
- Draft assessment and distribution reports, and prepare project progress reports.
- Responsible for technical monitoring of project quality and distribution planning.
- Lead technical coaching of project participants and monitoring of works.
- Provide updates on WASI activities.
- Support procurement processes and act as a procurement simple check focal point.
- Serve as a technical point of contact on the construction ground.
- Perform any other assigned tasks.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum three to five years of project management, serving, and designing experience of infrastructure projects, preferably in (I)NGOs.
- Proven experience in technical assessments, development of technical reports and design, drawings along with preparation of BoQs for sub-projects.
- Proven experience in environmental assessments.
- Proven project designing experience in updated design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water GEM & others).
- Extensive community level experience in mobilization and engagements.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent coordination skills and must be a good team player.
- Excellent computer using skills, preferably including MS Project.
- Excellent Auto CAD-using skills.
Qualification Requirements
• BSc. in Civil or Structural Engineering
