Overview
The Associate Protection Cluster Coordination Officer will assist the Protection Cluster Coordinator with information management, communication, and capacity building for cluster members and partners. The role aims to ensure civilian safety, rights, and dignity are central to the humanitarian response.
Tasks Summary
- Assist the Protection Cluster Coordinator with information management and communication.
- Interact with PC members and OCHA for report collection and transmission.
- Ensure liaison with thematic working groups and protection working groups.
- Compile and review thematic information for monthly newsletters.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of protection data for advocacy.
- Alert PC members in case of emergency and assist in organizing joint evaluation missions.
- Assist in research and analysis for Protection Cluster advocacy initiatives.
- Coordinate the promotion of international refugee law principles and standards.
- Refer PC recommendations to members and follow up on implementation.
- Coordinate the development of Protection strategies in the context of Pooled Fund process.
- Ensure the perspectives of persons of concern are reflected in protection strategies.
- Ensure legal assistance is accessible to persons of concern.
- Maintain protection presence through regular field missions.
- Support follow-up of matters linked to resource mobilization.
- Design, plan, and deliver training in coordination with other actors.
- Elaborate essential documents for the Cluster, draft agendas, and convene meetings.
Experience Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with refugees and/or other people of concern in a protection capacity required.
- Experience in information management and communication in Humanitarian and Protection affairs, in particular in the framework of Protection Clusters.
- Experience with relevant information management tools and software is desirable.
- Field experience in particular of working with persons of concern desirable.
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in Law, International Law, Political Science, or related field.
