Overview

The Senior Field Security Assistant is responsible for supervising office operations, supporting security coordination, analyzing security information, and developing security plans and procedures.

Tasks Summary

• Supervises office activities and operations, including budget preparation.
• Supports security officers in maintaining communication with agency focal points for security coordination.
• Analyzes security information and provides input to the Security Management Team.
• Develops security contingency plans, SOPs, inductions, training, and briefings.
• Liaises with local authorities to review security conditions and advise staff.
• Reviews investigation reports of incidents and ensures remedial actions.
• Ensures availability and maintenance of fire detection and fighting equipment, and conducts fire drills.
• Evaluates evacuation routes and resources for emergencies.
• Checks and arranges repairs for emergency communications systems.
• Ensures timely submission of security reports and personnel lists.
• Monitors security situation and provides information on threats.
• Establishes and maintains relations with host country security agencies.
• Shares security updates and receives intelligence briefings from host authorities.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Experience Requirements

10 years of experience in all areas of security operations with the national or UN Security is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to eight (8) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in coordination and cooperation with Host Governments is desirable. Experience with diplomatic protocols, cultural sensitivities, and local governance structures is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
