Overview

The Finance Assistant will be responsible and accountable for managing the resources management functions in the IOM Dublin office, under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and Resources Management Officer.

Tasks Summary
  • Extract and input data from various sources in financial or accounting systems.
  • Respond to accounting, budget or financial queries.
  • Assist in the preparation of the payroll by executing validity checks.
  • Review all types of payments, verifying authorization and supporting documents.
  • Create new Vendor Accounts in PRISM.
  • Verify vendor requests for accuracy and conformance with IOM finance policies.
  • Perform claim verifications against documentation.
  • Prepare necessary receipt and journal vouchers.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget, accounting, financial, and statistical reports.
  • Provide assistance to staff services such as travel and expense claims.
  • Ensure proper and systematic filling of all posted payments and accounting documents.
  • Responsible for the Petty Cash of the office.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finances, or related fields with two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook; previous experience in SAP is a distinct advantage.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements

High School diploma; or, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finances, or related fields.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Any other IOM official language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: Up to 9 months
