Overview

The National MHPSS Officer will support and coordinate the implementation of MHPSS Unit projects in Ireland, collaborating with various stakeholders to improve psychosocial well-being and strengthen resilience.

Tasks Summary
  • Coordinate the overall implementation of MHPSS projects, including financial, logistical, administrative, and technical aspects.
  • Monitor project implementation, document results, and propose corrective actions.
  • Promote the integration of gender, protection, human rights, and cross-cutting issues into projects.
  • Contribute to the development of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting tools.
  • Support information management activities, including awareness-raising and visibility.
  • Identify potential areas for project development and contribute to new project proposals.
  • Provide inputs to Senior Management Team discussions for coordination and synergy.
  • Support the development and adjustment of methodologies, contingency plans, and SOPs.
  • Coordinate the elaboration and dissemination of reports for donors and stakeholders.
  • Liaise and support coordination with government entities, partners, UN agencies, civil society, and donors.
  • Plan, develop, organize, and deliver capacity building activities.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, working groups, and forums.
  • Supervise MHPSS Unit team members.
  • Initiate and support the selection and recruitment of project team members.
  • Ensure MHPSS team members have necessary tools and promote compliance with IOM rules.
  • Undertake duty travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Mission.
Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience; or Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience coordinating project implementation with yearly budgets over EUR 2 million.
  • Experience supervising and coordinating small teams of staff in an operational or project setting.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience related to the provision of MHPSS is an advantage.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
  • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Contract Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension
