Overview

The Criminal Intelligence Analyst produces strategic and operational intelligence analysis on transnational crime and terrorism to support INTERPOL's activities and decision-making processes. The role also contributes to developing the organization's analytical capabilities.

Tasks Summary

• Produce operational and strategic analytical assessments related to crime phenomena, criminal organizations, and law enforcement measures.
• Perform environmental scanning to identify emerging political, economic, social, or technological trends impacting transnational crime prevention.
• Contribute to the development and application of criminal intelligence analysis methods and tools, and provide training.
• Monitor major criminal threats with global impact through open source information, expert meetings, and regional reports.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Experience Requirements

• At least three years in crime analysis (e.g., crime/criminal intelligence analyst in law enforcement, or researcher/analyst in organizations dealing with crime-related issues, intelligence analysis, or contemporary international security threats).
• Ten years of experience in the area if the required level of education is not met.
• Experience in writing national or regional strategic threat assessments and strategic analytical reports is an asset, and for some posts, a requirement.
• Experience in database management is an asset, and for some posts, a requirement.
• Experience working in an international or multicultural environment would be an asset.
• Police background would be a strong asset.

Qualification Requirements

• Three-to-four years of education at a University or equivalent, including Police Universities/Academies, possibly with a study focus on criminal/intelligence analysis, criminology, international cooperation or social sciences.
• Post-graduate degree would be considered an asset.

Languages Required: • Fluency in English.

Languages Preferred: • Proficiency in a second official working language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) or additional languages would be an additional asset and for some posts, a requirement.
