Overview
The role involves contributing to the development of a GEF 8 proposal by focusing on agriculture economics, financing, policies, and regulations. The purpose is to support the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
Tasks Summary
- Prepare a comprehensive report on national and state policies related to integrated and sustainable fodder management, livestock health, nutrition, and related areas.
- Prepare a financial assessment report on national and state budgets, expenditures, and scheme allocations related to dairying, livestock development, and integrated fodder systems.
- Estimate potential co-financing contributions from national and state implementing agencies.
- Conduct an economic analysis of livestock production systems.
- Prepare a note on innovative finance mechanisms.
- Coordinate the collection and consolidation of relevant data from key stakeholders.
- Ensure timely collection and sharing of data from state-level partners and stakeholders.
- Organize and store data, documents, and materials in the FAO SharePoint.
- Carry out other relevant duties as requested by FAO.
Experience Requirements
- At least ten (10) years of professional experience in working on research in agriculture, agriculture economics, livestock sector, agroforestry, etc including interpretation and analysis of complex data.
- Experience working with government agencies on development projects.
- Experience of writing detailed proposals for multilateral institutions.
- Knowledge and experience in sustainable agriculture, climate change, agro forestry, livestock and/or dairy sector.
- Excellent multicultural and interpersonal skills, with experience networking with partners at all levels.
- Experience working with international and donor organizations (e.g., World Bank, IFAD, Asian Development Bank).
Qualification Requirements
• Master’s degree in agriculture economics, environmental science and/or related field. Doctorate degree will be preferred.
