Overview
The Child Protection Officer provides professional, operational, and administrative support for child protection initiatives within the UNICEF Costa Rica Country Programme, focusing on planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct and update situation analysis for child protection programmes.
- Contribute to the development of programme goals, objectives, and strategies.
- Provide technical and operational support throughout programming processes.
- Prepare programme documentation and materials.
- Monitor and report on programme progress and resource utilization.
- Support the development and dissemination of communication materials for awareness-raising.
- Engage with national and local stakeholders to identify strategic partners.
- Contribute to the formulation and implementation of policies and operational procedures.
- Coordinate and implement capacity-building initiatives.
- Identify, capture, synthesize, and share lessons learned.
- Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
- Relevant experience in programme development in child protection related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
Qualification Requirements
A university degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, law, or another relevant social science field.
