Overview

Provide technical analysis and monitoring for the construction of search and rescue vessels to strengthen the Turkish Coast Guard's operational capacity.

Tasks Summary

• Observe the whole build process of the vessels from concept to delivery.
• Ensure construction is completed effectively, safely, economically and in line with specifications.
• Provide risk analysis of vessels using classification society regulations.
• Follow up on execution of document approval and trials.
• Conduct weekly and regular visits to the shipyard to monitor construction.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports on the construction process.
• Alert on technical bottlenecks and provide solutions.
• Notify the supplier on contract discrepancies.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of the vessels.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7 or more years of progressively responsible professional experience in naval architecture or maritime engineering or related areas.
• Proven experience in technical supervision including good understanding of vessel construction business.
• Well-developed skills and demonstrated experience in dealing with EU projects and several stakeholders.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or technology by a professional engineering institution.
• Degree in naval architecture is an advantage.
