Overview

Support spatial modeling and map production, and capacity building for UNFPA Somalia by acquiring, cleaning, and managing spatial data, conducting spatial analysis, and creating maps and visualizations.

Tasks Summary

• Acquiring, cleaning, and managing spatial data (vector, raster, satellite images).
• Conducting spatial modeling, clustering, hotspot analysis, and interpolation to identify patterns.
• Creating static maps, thematic maps, and interactive web maps using GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).

Experience Requirements

• Proficiency in GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine).
• Strong knowledge of spatial analysis techniques, statistics, and cartographic design.
• Experience in remote sensing, data management, and data visualization.
• Experience in online collaboration and development context is an asset.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in a relevant field.
