Overview

The consultant will identify and analyze national data sources to develop a pilot list of gender-sensitive climate change indicators. This involves mapping and analyzing data linking climate change, disasters, and gender.

Tasks Summary

• Map and analyze available national data sources on climate change and gender, including censuses, statistical surveys, administrative records, geospatial data, monitoring systems, scientific research, citizen-generated data, and Big data.
• Collaborate closely with the national focal point in the Department of Statistics in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and relevant ministries or agencies.
• Communicate with ministries such as the Ministry of Environment, other environment and climate-change related ministries and agencies, Ministry on social and gender issues, NGOs working on gender issues, and relevant experts in the RCO.

Experience Requirements

• At least 7 years of technical experience working with national statistics and data is required.
• Experience in environment, climate change, disaster-related or gender statistics is required.
• Experience working with national statistical offices on data collection/reporting is desirable.
• Experience in preparing national plans, policies or strategies is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• Successful completion of a high school diploma is required.
• Supplemental training in economics, statistics, sociology, environment sciences, agriculture sciences, gender studies, data science, information science or business administration is required.
