Overview

The candidate will support the protection determination systems in Ireland as part of a Quality Initiative (QI) project, involving quality assurance reviews, training development, and delivery.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct regular quality assurance reviews.
• Develop and deliver training.
• Conduct related capacity building activities.
• Assist with specialized training in relation to international protection.
• Undertake other related duties including in relation to the transposition of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.

Experience Requirements

• Experience in or familiarity with the Irish asylum system including refugee law, practice and policy in Ireland.
• Experience in refugee status determination/conducting quality assurance activities.
• Good understanding of the EU framework on asylum law.
• Good understanding of displacement and protection issues including with respect to an AGD approach to programme and protection work.
• Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide network.
• Prior UNHCR experience will be considered an asset.

Remuneration: equivalent to net annual salary scale established by the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) applicable to UNHCR local staff at the G7 grade in Ireland.
