Overview
The Assistant Reporting Officer supports the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information to promote UNHCR's actions for refugees and contribute to decision-making and fundraising efforts.
Tasks Summary
- - Keep abreast with developments to prepare briefings and reports.
- - Assist in collecting and drafting information for regular updates.
- - Assist in organising donor briefings and inter-agency meetings.
- - Assist in maintaining working relationships with Government, NGOs, and UN agencies.
- - Draft and disseminate minutes of meetings.
- - Accompany visitors on monitoring missions and prepare briefing material.
- - Draft updates, donor reports, background notes, briefing notes, press reports, etc.
- - Produce reports on UNHCR activities.
- - Liaise with external partners on behalf of UNHCR.
- - Support identification and management of risks and opportunities.
Experience Requirements
- 1 year relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or no experience with Graduate degree; or no experience with Doctorate degree
- Proven experience in reporting, with a strong ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely.
- Field experience with UNHCR or similar humanitarian organizations.
- Solid understanding of the regional and operational context, particularly in humanitarian or displacement settings.
Qualification Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication or other relevant field. Bachelor’s degrees in Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or International Relations would also be considered.
