Overview

Provide technical advice to support the implementation, monitoring, coordination, and evaluation of project activities related to digital skills and digital trade for youth entrepreneurship and SMEs.

Tasks Summary
  • Participates in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of assigned project activities.
  • Monitors and analyzes project development and implementation.
  • Reviews relevant documents and reports.
  • Identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions.
  • Liaises with relevant parties.
  • Identifies and tracks follow-up actions in relation to digital skills and digital trade for youth and SMEs.
  • Provides guidance and support to a team of specialists and administrative contractors.
  • Performs consulting assignments in relation to digital skills and digital trade for youth and SMEs and tech ecosystem development.
  • Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
  • Assists in policy development.
  • Undertakes survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses.
  • Prepares various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications.
  • Provides substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Undertakes outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
  • Participates in or lead field missions.
  • Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience in digital technologies, digital skills and tech ecosystems is desirable. Experience in youth entrepreneurship and SMEs’ development is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English, (both oral and written) is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of Krio is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: six (6) months, with possibility of extension
