Overview
The Programme Associate will be responsible for designing and implementing resilience and livelihood activities in urban and rural settings, focusing on climate and environmental aspects.
Tasks Summary
- Contribute to the implementation of WFP Policies, standards, norms and practices.
- Design and implement project proposals related to climate change, environmental aspects, resilience and livelihoods.
- Support the formulation and implementation of climate change adaptation and mitigation activities.
- Synthesize and commission evidence for programme design and implementation.
- Identify and develop partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Track project implementation progress, achievements, and budget utilization.
- Create and track administrative documents supporting project implementation.
- Collect, collate, analyse, verify and disseminate climate change knowledge and information.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report progress of climate change programmes and activities.
- Promote innovations for building beneficiary resilience to climate change shocks.
- Identify gaps and entry points for capacity building.
- Support coordination with partners and local authorities.
- Conduct field missions/visits as required.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 6 years relevant work experience.
- Has technical knowledge and practical experience in environment, climate, resilience and livelihood-related projects.
- Has experience working with Governmental technical counterparts.
- Has worked extensively in tasks that involved relationship building and community engagement.
- Has expertise in grant and proposal writing in English.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Ecology, Agronomy, Biology Social Sciences, and any other relevant field.
