Overview
The Agrobiodiversity and Nature-Based Solution Specialist will provide technical support to projects focused on agrobiodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization, and nature-based solutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
Tasks Summary
- Build scientific and technical capacity on agrobiodiversity conservation, sustainable crop production, landscape management, nature-based solutions, and low-carbon agrifood systems.
- Provide technical support and coordination for GEF project execution.
- Assist in providing technical advice on sustainable food production practices and value chains.
- Assist in providing technical advice on agroecosystem and biodiversity conservation and restoration.
- Assist in providing technical advice on dynamic conservation and sustainable utilization of agrobiodiversity.
- Assist in knowledge management and M&E activities, including documenting case studies and organizing workshops.
- Participate in project-related workshops, consultations, and meetings.
- Participate in supervisory inspection missions.
- Work as a task force in formulating GEF9 projects.
Experience Requirements
- Relevant experience in working with a wide range of partners, including governments and research institutions.
- Minimum two years of research experience on plants and environment, ideally in China and/or Indonesia.
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
- Relevance and extent of research experience on plants and environment, such as soil and water; designing, collecting, and analyzing technical information and data; preparing, editing, and revising technical/scientific documents, and publication; organizing international meetings and workshops.
- Relevance and extent of experience in working with governments, research institutions, and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced university degree in agrifood systems, environmental sciences or related field.
