Overview
The Senior IT Associate is a technical position responsible for ensuring the routine functioning of the IT system within a country operation and assisting management in its improvement and refinement.
Tasks Summary
- - Undertake needs assessment and installations of UNHCR Telecommunications equipment.
- - Install and configure UNHCR IT and Telecommunications systems.
- - Ensure IT equipment is in good working condition and arrange for repairs or replacement.
- - Maintain records of installations and repairs.
- - Provide information for asset management records.
- - Monitor and maintain LAN, Network Servers, Printers, and related infrastructure.
- - Add or remove users from the Network.
- - Carry out minor hardware maintenance.
- - Maintain inventory of infrastructure equipment.
- - Carry out missions for installations and maintenance.
- - Maintain VSAT Network and local PABX systems.
- - Undertake coaching and training of IT staff and users.
- - Upgrade computers (Hardware, Software).
- - Liaise with end users to resolve reported issues.
- - Decide on appropriate resolution to incidents/problems.
- - Escalate issues to supervisor when necessary.
- - Support risk management and opportunity identification.
- - Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
- 4 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
- Essential: Experience with PAMA satellite systems, PABX, Cisco routers and satellite modems. Knowledge of computer application packages.
- Desirable: Hands-on experience with wireless and VoIP systems, electricity, generators, lightning protection an asset.

Satellite Communications (essential certificate/license).
