Overview

The Nuclear Energy Agency is seeking a Socio-Technical Policy Analyst to lead and support initiatives that integrate social science and technical dimensions of radioactive waste management and decommissioning.

Tasks Summary
  • Support the work of the Radioactive Waste Management Committee (RWMC) and its sub-groups.
  • Contribute to the development of practical solutions for nuclear waste management and decommissioning challenges.
  • Track and analyse developments in social science research related to Radioactive Waste Management.
  • Identify and advance opportunities for collaborative projects and cooperative actions.
  • Work closely with other NEA divisions to support cross-cutting projects, publications, and events.
  • Implement joint undertakings among interested member countries.
  • Maintain working relationships and coordinate activities with key external organisations.
  • Represent the RWMD and the NEA at international fora.
  • Provide technical and organisational support for committee meetings.
  • Provide expert contributions to the drafting, review, and editing of reports.
  • Support cross-cutting technical and policy initiatives.
  • Organise scientific workshops and conferences.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the nuclear sector and socio-technical analysis, preferably in radioactive waste management and decommissioning.
  • Experience in consensus-building among national and international experts on RWM and decommissioning priorities.
  • Proven national level and international experience interacting with senior officials and experts from governmental organisations, regulatory authorities and research institutions.
  • Proven experience in leading dialogues of a team of diverse experts.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage simultaneously several programme of works with strict deadlines and within budget.
Qualification Requirements

• Advanced degree in public policy, international affairs, social sciences, engineering, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in radioactive waste management or the nuclear sector.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 24 month fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal to a maximum of 36 months.

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Monthly salary starts at 8 098,38 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.
