Overview
The Demand and Supply Planning Analyst will support the technical and operational aspects of resource management, focusing on demand planning for non-health programme supplies for country offices. This includes participating in needs assessments, validating forecasts and supply plans, and contributing to funding gap analysis.
Tasks Summary
- Lead the process for forecasting demand for non-health products.
- Provide technical guidance to regional and country offices in the area of national non-health commodity needs assessments.
- Develop and manage supply plans, ensuring optimal stock levels, inventory management, and timely replenishment.
- Align non-health planning processes with an ERP system.
- Contribute to the production and automation of forecasting and quantification tools.
- Contribute to the comprehensive assessment to understand existing market landscapes for non-health programme supplies.
- Support and implement activities related to UNFPA’s Governance, Risk, Compliance and Reporting function.
- Conduct capacity assessments to identify gaps and develop a plan for capacity-strengthening initiatives.
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on best practices in planning and management of non-health supply chains.
- Promote and advocate for UNFPA's leadership in supply chain management.
- Support an environment for knowledge retention and sharing.
- Support the full range of supply chain management issues.
- Contribute to the awareness of UNFPA’s value proposition and relationships with donors and partners.
- Act as the technical focal point for all aspects related to the procurement of non-health goods and services.
- Formulate and execute strategies to effectively advocate for broadened TPP services concerning non-health program supplies.
- Maintain effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders within UNFPA.
- Support relationships with key supply chain partners.
- Evaluate current supply chain planning processes, identify gaps, and provide data analysis and reports.
- Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and other logistics information systems for materials requirements planning and inventory tracking.
- Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Chief, SCMU.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 2 of progressively responsible professional experience in supply chain, logistics, and planning, preferably within the humanitarian/NGO sector. Demonstrated experience in planning and managing the supply of non-health products. Experience in a multi-cultural environment and with UN/international organization procedures is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
An advanced university degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, commerce, or a related field is required. Professional certification in procurement and supply (e.g., CIPS Level 3-4) would be an asset.
