Consultant - Graphic Design

Overview

The United Nations Environment Programme seeks a consultant to produce high-quality graphic design and layout work for publications and online materials.

Tasks Summary

• Design and layout publications, logos, webpages and other communications collaterals including but not limited to: books; technical reports; training materials; magazines; online publications; and technical brochures, presentations;
• Transform data sets, ideas and concepts into cutting edge and accessible animated, interactive or static infographics and/or illustrations to be used in publications and web;
• Create logo for the initiatives;
• Develop engaging and feature-rich webpage designs or mobile apps layouts;
• Consult with author departments to validate production, clarify ambiguities and rectify substantive errors, and ensure accuracy, clarity, cohesion and conformity with United Nations standards, policies and practice.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of five (5) years of working experience in graphic design and illustration work for high quality publications and information material is required. Significant experience in the international arena is desirable. Experience in the United Nations Common System or similar international organizations is desirable. Ability to adapt quickly and work closely with editors and reviewers at all levels is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

First-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in arts/graphic design/illustration/publishing or related field is required. A technical diploma in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the first-level degree.

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of other United Nations languages is desirable.
