Overview
Provide overall support, technical, operational, and administrative assistance to the implementation of animal health projects in Fiji.
Tasks Summary
- Support coordination and liaison activities with various stakeholders.
- Assist with day-to-day project implementation, including planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Contribute to organizing meetings, workshops, and events.
- Provide support to project initiatives, including One Health and multi-sectoral coordination.
- Assist in the preparation of timely reports.
- Provide administrative and operational support for project implementation.
- Support the preparation of briefs.
- Participate in field missions for monitoring and coordination.
- Follow-up on the execution of commissioned studies.
- Support FAO participation in relevant fora and technical discussions.
- Facilitate knowledge management and information sharing.
- Assist in the preparation of communication materials.
- Contribute to the development and production of outreach communication materials.
- Assist in drafting correspondence and official letters.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in project management, or related project support, preferably related to animal health, veterinary public health, zoonoses, transboundary animal diseases (TADs), and One Health initiatives.
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work.
- Extent and relevance of experience in supporting animal health or One Health–related projects, including coordination with government counterparts, development partners, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with government agencies, international organizations, or development partners, with exposure to multi-stakeholder coordination and implementation environments preferred.
- Extent and relevance of experience in project implementation support, including activity planning, monitoring against workplans, and preparation of technical or progress reports.
- Extend and relevance of experience in supporting meetings, workshops, and field activities, including drafting concept notes, presentations, meeting notes, and reports.
- Ability to support knowledge management and information sharing, including maintaining shared document repositories and contributing to communication and outreach materials.
- Familiarity with administrative and operational processes, such as procurement support, Letters of Agreement (LOAs), and coordination of delivery of project inputs.
- Basic understanding of FAO, UN, or donor-funded project environments, particularly in the animal health or emergency response context, is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Health, Animal Production, Biological Sciences, Public Health, One Health, Management, International Relations, or a related field.
