Overview

Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorised personnel and general cargo goods, and performs minor purchases and collections. Ensures day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles and reports any damage or loss.

Tasks Summary
  • Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorised personnel and for the transport of general cargo goods.
  • Makes deliveries of parcels, documents, etc., between the office and other offices and institutions.
  • Makes minor purchases and collect urgent purchases from local suppliers.
  • Collect goods from customs with due regard to customs regulations and formalities.
  • Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities.
  • Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
  • Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.
  • Perform minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures that vehicle is kept clean and comprehensively insured.
  • Reports any damage or loss of vehicle tools.
  • Logs fuel consumption, maintenance etc.
  • Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of accident.
  • Applies good judgment in the context of assignments given.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of two (2) years of continuous driving experience with a safe driving record is required.
  • Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles is required.
  • Work Experience with the United Nations or similar International Organization is desirable.
  • Experience working with senior diplomatic officials is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Completion of a High School diploma or equivalent, is required.
  • Valid National Driver License is required.
  • A defensive driving certificate is desirable.
  • First aid training is desirable.
Other Details

Languages Required: English is required. Turkmen is required.

Languages Preferred: Russian is desirable.

Contract Duration: one year (1) year
