Overview

Provides technical expertise, conducts engineering evaluations, and feasibility studies for Intelligence and Joint Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JISR) Systems to support intelligence requirements and production workflows.

Tasks Summary
  • Advise the Section Head as a subject matter expert on technical and functional aspects of NATO Intelligence/JISR Functional Area Services.
  • Advise and provide engineering expertise for long-term CIS planning to design and achieve optimal architecture of Intel/JISR Systems.
  • Analyse JFCBS J2 Information Exchange Requirement (IER) processes and initiate development of CIS solutions.
  • Ensure Intel/JISR FAS capabilities are continuously operational and address system unavailability risks.
  • Draft and maintain procedures for Intel/JISR FAS systems support and supervise Functional Administrators.
  • Deliver training on Intel Systems and contribute to Intelligence course designers.
  • Advise users on best practices for Intelligence Systems.
  • Perform engineering evaluation and feasibility studies for Intelligence Support Capabilities.
  • Oversee and analyse lessons learned to identify shortfalls and deficiencies of Intel/JISR FAS functionalities.
  • Act as the focal point in JFCBS J2 for functional and operational requirements for Intelligence/JISR Functional Area Services.
  • Contribute technical competence to user acceptance testing, installation, configuration, and training of new Intelligence Systems.
  • Liaise with SHAPE J2, NCIA, NCISG, BGX and contribute to relevant conferences and working groups.
  • Undertake work as part of a project team.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in designing and implementing JISR/Intelligence-oriented architectures for Command and Control Systems.
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in defining and developing data flows in Information Systems networks in support of JISR/Intelligence processes.
  • Engineering experience in JISR/Intelligence Functional Area Services applied to modern information management and Command and Control Information Systems.
  • Experience in user functional and military operational requirements identification, analysis, engineering and converting them into Information Systems projects and development processes.
  • Experience in providing systems training and assistance to user’s daily activities.
  • Experience in Intelligence field (desirable).
  • Experience with NATO JISR/Intelligence Systems and Services as a user (desirable).
Qualification Requirements

• Secondary education and completed vocational training in relevant field/subject.

Other Details

Languages Required: • English – good – NATO Standard Language Proficiency 3322 (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) in accordance with NATO standard agreement (STANAG) 6001.
