Overview

The Senior Supply Chain Officer is responsible for managing and leading the Supply Chain department at IRC Assosa Field Office, ensuring efficient and compliant procurement, warehouse, asset, and fleet management.

Tasks Summary
  • Manage and lead the Supply Chain team, including procurement, warehouse, and drivers.
  • Train and mentor staff on IRC Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  • Oversee procurement of goods and services, ensuring compliance with IRC and donor regulations.
  • Manage warehouse inventory, assets, and fleet operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on supply chain activities.
  • Coordinate with program and operations teams to address supply chain needs.
  • Conduct market assessments and maintain vendor databases.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all supply chain activities.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience for BA Degree holder and 1 year working experience for MA holder.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to deal with professional people from programs, operations and finance backgrounds.
  • Good project management knowledge.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and supervise/monitor implementation of emergency health response programs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional team structure.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner.
Qualification Requirements

BA Degree in logistics, Supply chain management, Accounting, economics, business management or any other relevant field of study.

Other Details

Languages Required: Knowledge of English is mandatory.

Languages Preferred: Fluent in the local languages and familiarity with BGRS regional context is an added advantage.
