Overview

Expert on NDC tracking to provide technical input for project deliverables and reports, working in close coordination with the National ICAT team leader and other team members.

Tasks Summary
  • Co-developing Stocktaking report, including mapping of current procedures in data collection, institutional arrangements, key priorities for MRV system, projections and NDC tracking; Needs and gaps assessment for inventory reports; and recommendations to address the gaps.
  • Co-developing Validation workshop report.
  • Developing Report on the identification of appropriate quantitative indicators for tracking the progress in implementing policies and measures for mitigation sectors of the NDC and for tracking the achievement of national and sectorial GHG reductions NDC targets, including data gap analysis, templates and procedures for data collection.
  • Developing Report on the short list of indicators and the IA proposed to monitor their progress.
  • Developing NDC tracking report based on the first assessment of selected indicators to be used as inputs to the BTR.
  • Co-developing Final validation workshop and socialization of the framework.
  • Co-developing Final project report including lessons learned, key achievement and potential for further development and/or replicability.
  • Supporting the ICAT team with technical inputs on request.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of proven working experience in climate/environment protection.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in working with diverse methodologies and tools for NDC tracking and climate indicators, especially those used for climate planning and reporting under the PA agreement.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience of working with international development projects, national and local stakeholder engagement related to climate mitigation.
  • Demonstrated experience in NDC stocktaking.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the natural and social sciences.
  • A Bachelor degree with a relevant combination of two years of additional experience related to the position may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
