Overview

The role involves providing technical input for GHG projections and mitigation scenario development, contributing to the completion of project deliverables and reports.

Tasks Summary
  • Co-developing stocktaking reports, including mapping procedures, institutional arrangements, and needs assessments.
  • Co-developing validation workshop reports.
  • Preparing reports on selected tools for emissions projections.
  • Developing reports on baseline projections using selected GHG projection tools.
  • Co-developing stakeholder validation workshop reports and improvement plans.
  • Co-developing stakeholder consultation workshop reports for policy and measure identification.
  • Preparing reports on detailed GHG projection/scenario results and GHG targets.
  • Co-developing final validation workshop and socialization of the framework.
  • Co-developing final project reports including lessons learned and achievements.
Experience Requirements
  • Proven working experience in climate/environment protection minimum 5 years.
  • Proven experience in working with diverse GHG projections methodologies and tools, especially the ones used for climate planning and reporting under the PA agreement, minimum 10 years.
  • Proven experience in identifying mitigation policies and measures, modeling GHG mitigation scenarios, minimum 5 years.
  • Proven experience of working with international development projects, national and local stakeholder engagement related to climate mitigation, minimum 5 years.
  • Demonstrated experience in GHG emission accounting, preparation of national communications and biennial update report /Biennial Transparency Report is an added advantage.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the natural and social sciences.
  • A Bachelor degree with a relevant combination of two years of additional experience related to the position may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of 2006 IPCC Guidelines, 2019 Refinements to the 2016 IPPC guidelines, 2003 good practice guidelines including Modalities, Procedures and Guidelines of the Enhanced Transparency Framework.
  • Excellent knowledge of the climate change policy and processes.
