Overview
This role involves managing a regional Community of Practice (CoP) focused on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRHR) to promote health and well-being among adolescents and young people in sub-Saharan Africa.
Tasks Summary
- Understand and manage the CoP life cycle, including member outreach and database management.
- Organize and deliver monthly knowledge-sharing events like webinars and virtual meetups.
- Manage content creation and scheduling for ASRHR-focused posts, videos, articles, and newsletters.
- Facilitate post-webinar discussions and knowledge exchange on platforms like WhatsApp.
- Promote online courses on ASRHR and manage digital platform subscriptions.
- Analyze CoP metrics and qualitative data to report on performance and outcomes.
- Establish and monitor a teacher cohort for measuring progress in ASRHR education.
- Update country teams on CoP activities and support country-level professional development.
- Provide on-demand support for managing and engaging with online communities.
- Co-design initiatives to integrate mental health and psychosocial support into CoP programming.
- Prepare a final report summarizing activities, recommendations, and ensuring knowledge transfer.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with a focus on ASRHR, health, gender, education, or related areas.
- Proven track record convening discussions on ASRHR issues, including sensitive topics like reproductive rights, gender equity, and HIV prevention.
- 3 years’ experience in managing online communities.
- Demonstrated experience in digital community management, including proficiency in platforms like WhatsApp, webinar tools (e.g., Zoom) supported by at least three (3) examples/references.
- Strong digital skills for online moderation, content curation, event hosting, and data analysis; familiarity with multimedia tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop), email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), and other digital platforms supported by at least three (3) examples/references.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in public health, education, communications, social sciences, or a related field.
