Overview

Provide technical expertise to strengthen institutional systems, policies, procedures, and capacities for compliance with GCF accreditation standards. The assignment contributes to institutional readiness, quality assurance of technical outputs, and effective capacity building.

Tasks Summary
  • Facilitate kickoff meetings and consultations with relevant GAMWORKS units and stakeholders to collect information and conduct a gap analysis of existing environmental, social, and gender policies, procedures, and practices against GCF ESS and gender requirements.
  • Draft and localize environmental and social safeguards policies, procedures, screening tools, and gender policies and tools consistent with GCF standards and national regulatory frameworks.
  • Support piloting and operationalization of ESS and gender systems, including application of screening tools and grievance mechanisms, and document implementation challenges and lessons learned.
  • Support ESS and gender–related training activities, including preparation of materials, participation in sessions, and collection of feedback for system refinement.
  • Deliver responsive ad-hoc operational and administrative support to advance project objectives and address emerging priorities.
Experience Requirements

5 years of professional experience in environmental & social safeguards and gender at national and subnational levels, or institutional strengthening in climate or development projects; Experience with workshop facilitation skills and experience in delivering dedicated training workshops; Experience with public and/or private institutions in West Africa

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, gender studies, environmental management, development studies, or other relevant discipline

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in written and spoken English is required

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of local languagues (eg. Wolof or Mandinka) is desirable

Contract Duration: 10 months (with the possibility of extension)
