Overview
The Chauffeur will be responsible for driving a service vehicle for authorized transport of personnel, visitors, or consultants for UNOCHA's needs, adhering to safety regulations and country laws. The role also involves maintaining the assigned vehicle and ensuring its cleanliness.
Tasks Summary
- Drive the assigned service vehicle for authorized transport of personnel, visitors, or consultants for UNOCHA's needs, respecting safety rules and country laws.
- Drive personnel on official missions.
- Maintain the daily logbook of the assigned vehicle, recording all movements, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Collect and distribute mail, documents, and other items.
- Ensure daily maintenance and upkeep of the assigned vehicle, checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., and performing minor repairs.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle and its contents.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of the office vehicles, performing essential operations for type A and B maintenance.
- Validate repair work for curative maintenance before submitting work requests to the garage.
- Ensure official vehicle documents are up-to-date and signal renewals at least one month before expiration.
- Ensure assigned vehicle documents and parts are available and current.
- Take immediate action in case of an accident as per organizational rules and regulations, reporting to the police and insurance or the UN Security Service Officer.
- Support Administration in certifying garage invoices and formulating claims for insufficient garage services.
- Perform any related tasks requested by supervisors within the scope of the office's activities.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required.
- Experience in basic computer use and relevant office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to use online management systems and electronic logging, filing, and/or scheduling systems.
Qualification Requirements
- High School certificate.
- A certificate in automobile mechanics.
- A legal and valid driver's license.
